Driving Forward

Focusing on the Rear view Mirror, makes for an impossible destination going forward.

When reflecting on life, some of us get stuck on the things that we encountered in our past. In my opinion it is okay to visit the past to assure that we will not make the same mistakes that caused us hard times and struggles in our lives.

If we use a car’s rear view mirror to symbolize our past, we will find that the standard rear view mirror is actually one of the smallest viewpoints in a car. It is not designed for our main focus, it is only designed to allow us to see what is behind us, our Past. Our focus should be on what lies ahead, our Future!

As long as we have control of the wheel, we should always continue to be sure that we are Driving Forward!

Blessings To You My Friends, I Pray Your Days Are Truly Blessed!

  1. The analogy of the rear view mirror is wonderful. I have known so many people who are absorbed with their past that it is quite unfathomable for them to see and live in the present let alone their future. Dwelling on the past hinders the happiness that is in the here and now. What would be some strategies that you could suggest for these people?

    1. Thank you for utilizing a portion of your time for the reading and commenting on this blog. I agree, there are people who seem to not ever let the past go, therefore, keeping themselves from growing and going further in life.

Many Blessings To You My Friend!

  2. Wow! Short and straight to the point.  I like the fact that you compare it with the rear mirror.  Sometime ago I used to struggle with the past and would always refer to my past and pin to the reason that things are not working as they are meant to be.  But I have learned along the way to move forward and lean ahead as much as there is the temptation to always look back.

  3. I really enjoyed reading your post.

I find that I personally spend too much time looking in the rear view mirror. I love analogies and I think this is a really good example of one. I spend lots of time looking in the rear view mirror that I nearly crash the car sometimes.

It has really helped me with my day, as recently, I have been struggling with what I should be focusing on in my life.

    Thank you so much 🙂

The best thing we can do in this situation, in my opinion, is to keep focusing on where we want to go, glancing back in the Rear View Mirror at times, only to remind us of the progress we have made while on our continuous journey going forward.
